The Bills announced today that they have signed quarterback T.J. Yates. The veteran will most likely be the second string quarterback with Cardale jones being the third string quarterback. Yates played under Buffalo’s offensive coordinator Rick Dennison when he was with the Houston Texans so he is very familiar with the offense. He will be a big asset for Tyrod Taylor as he is learning the new offense. Yates does have some experience as a starter. In his seven starts he threw for 1,534 yards with 6 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 7 fumbles and a 58.2 completion percentage.

I believe the signing of Yates decreases the odds of the Bills signing a quarterback in the draft this year. If they do sign a quarterback, it will probably be in the 5th or 6th round. However, most teams only carry three quarterbacks so I can only picture that happening if they decide to cut Cardale Jones for some reason.
